What an AI task manager actually does
A classic task manager waits for you to fill in the fields: title, due date, assignee, project. An AI task manager takes over part of that work. You type or speak naturally, and the tool works out the tasks, dates and priorities.
Search results for “AI task manager” mix very different products, so it helps to split them into three groups before comparing:
- AI schedulers. You add tasks with deadlines and durations, and the tool places them into free calendar slots and reshuffles when plans change. Examples: Motion, Reclaim.
- Project tools with an AI assistant. People still create the work, while AI writes descriptions, summarizes threads, generates subtasks and answers questions about projects. Example: ClickUp.
- AI that reads work chats. Nobody has to log tasks on purpose: the tool finds them in conversations and updates them when follow-ups arrive. Example: Tydy for Telegram.
How to choose: five questions before you subscribe
- Whose tasks are these. Just yours or the whole team’s. A personal scheduler does not need roles and permissions, a team tool cannot work without them.
- Where tasks come from. Calendar and meetings, a project board, email or chat. AI helps most where tasks are born, not where they are stored later.
- Who makes the final call. Check whether AI applies changes on its own or proposes them for review, and whether you can undo an AI action.
- How AI is billed. Included in the plan, metered in credits, limited by the number of AI agents or sold as an add-on. This decides the real price.
- What still works without AI. Boards, due dates, reminders and history should keep working even when the AI allowance runs out.

The four tools in detail
Motion: AI planning for your calendar and projects
Motion calls itself an AI work app: tasks, projects, calendar, meetings, docs and notes in one place. Its AI Task Planner creates and prioritizes tasks, and the AI Calendar plans your day and schedules meetings. It suits people whose main problem is a packed calendar.
The pricing page shows two team plans. Billed annually (“Save 33%”), Pro AI costs $19 per seat/month with 7,500 AI credits per seat, and Business AI costs $29 per seat/month with 15,000 credits plus team capacity planning, Gantt charts and time tracking. With monthly billing the same plans cost $29 and $49 per seat/month. Motion starts with a free trial, and there is no free plan on the pricing page.
Reclaim: AI scheduling that protects focus time
Reclaim works on top of your calendar. AI agents defend focus time, schedule habits, add buffer time after calls and fit tasks into open slots. Task integrations include Google Tasks on the free plan and Todoist, Asana, ClickUp, Jira and Linear on paid plans, and Reclaim can recommend tasks from meeting action items.
Lite is free for a 1-user team with 5 AI agents and a 1-week scheduling range. Starter costs $10 per seat/month billed yearly ($12 monthly) for up to 10 seats and an 8-week range. Business costs $15 per seat/month billed yearly ($18 monthly) for up to 100 seats. Enterprise costs $22 per seat/month on yearly billing only, with unlimited AI agents.
ClickUp: AI across a full project workspace
ClickUp Brain² is the AI layer of ClickUp: AI chats, AI tasks and projects, and search across the workspace history. It fits teams that already run tasks, docs and dashboards in ClickUp and want AI on top of that context. We covered ClickUp boards in “Kanban board for teams”.
On the pricing page, Free Forever costs $0 and includes a Brain² trial with 500 credits per workspace. Core costs $9 per user/month billed yearly ($12 monthly) with a Brain² trial and 1,000 pooled credits per user/month. Business costs $17 billed yearly ($25 monthly) and includes ClickUp Brain² with premium models and 1,500 pooled credits per user/month.
Tydy: AI that turns Telegram conversations into tasks
Tydy solves a different problem: work that is born in chat. It connects to the Telegram groups and forum topics you choose and, in early access, to personal chats via Telegram Business. Tydy reads a batch of messages from one person as a single request and checks open and similar tasks before creating anything. A follow-up a few hours later updates the same task instead of creating a duplicate.
A person makes the final call. When Tydy is not sure enough, the change goes to the AI Inbox as a proposal: accept, edit or ignore it. Every proposal shows its source message, and applied actions can be undone. Voice notes are transcribed, screenshots are attached to their task, and tasks live on a Kanban board.
Tydy also handles deadlines in Telegram: the main assignee gets a reminder a day and an hour before the due date and one overdue message, with Complete, +1 day, Tomorrow and Next week buttons. A morning digest and quiet hours are opt-in, and the app has a calendar by due date and an overdue report. See the Deadlines section.
What AI really costs: how to read the plans
The plan price rarely tells you how much AI you get. Here is how the tools in this review meter it as of Nov 1, 2026:
| As of Nov 1, 2026 | How AI is metered | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Motion | AI credits: 7,500 per seat on Pro AI, 15,000 on Business AI | The pricing page also lists a per-100-credit rate for each plan |
| Reclaim | AI agents: 5 on Lite, 10 per seat on Starter, 100 per seat on Business | Paid plans have seat caps: 10 on Starter, 100 on Business |
| ClickUp | Brain² credits: 500 per workspace on Free, 1,000 or 1,500 per user/month pooled on Core and Business | Free and Core include a Brain² trial, full Brain² starts on Business |
| Tydy | AI actions: 50 on Free, 2,000 on Pro, 10,000 on Team; screenshots and voice have their own limits | An action is spent on reading a batch of messages; the messages themselves do not use the limit |
Tydy is priced per workspace, and members do not pay separately: Free 0 RUB for up to 2 members and 3 projects, Pro 990 RUB a month for up to 5 members, Team 2,990 RUB a month for up to 15 members. Yearly billing saves 17%, and payment is in roubles via YooKassa. All limits are on the Pricing page.
Which AI task manager to pick
- Your calendar is the bottleneck: Motion for full auto-planning of tasks and projects, Reclaim if focus time and habits matter most.
- Your team already lives in a project workspace: ClickUp with Brain², so AI works on the context you already have.
- Clients and teammates send work in Telegram: Tydy. It will not plan your personal day, but it stops tasks from getting lost in chat.
Tydy as an AI task manager: pros and cons
Pros
- Tasks appear from ordinary Telegram conversations, with no bot commands or copy-paste.
- Follow-ups update the same task instead of creating duplicates.
- Uncertain changes wait in the AI Inbox, and applied actions can be undone.
- Due date and overdue reminders arrive in Telegram on every plan, including Free.
- MCP for AI agents such as Cursor and Claude, limited by token scopes and your role.
Cons
- It is not a personal scheduler: calendar time-blocking and habits are not described on tydy.dev.
- The Free plan is small: 2 members, 3 projects and 50 AI actions a month.
- Meeting transcription is not described on tydy.dev; the AI works with Telegram chats.
- Prices are in roubles, and personal chats via Telegram Business are still in early access.
How AI tells a task from small talk, and when a command bot is enough, is covered in “Telegram task bot”. If you are moving off a to-do list app, see “Todoist alternatives for teams”. Setup steps for groups are on the Tasks in Telegram page, agency workflows on the For agencies page, and MCP connections on the Integrations page.
FAQ
What is an AI task manager?
It is a task manager where you do not fill in every field yourself: you type, speak or simply chat, and AI works out the tasks, dates and priorities. Some tools do this for personal schedules, others help a team with projects, meetings or work chats.
Is there a free AI task manager?
As of Nov 1, 2026, Reclaim Lite is free for one user, ClickUp Free Forever includes a Brain² trial with 500 credits per workspace, and Tydy Free includes 50 AI actions a month for up to 2 members. Motion offers a free trial rather than a free plan.
Which AI task manager is best for teams?
Teams need assignees, permissions and a shared board. In this review that means ClickUp, the team plans of Motion and Reclaim, and Tydy. The right choice depends on where tasks start: in calendars and meetings, in a project workspace or in Telegram chats.
Can AI create tasks from Telegram messages?
Yes. Tydy connects to Telegram work groups and forum topics, finds tasks in the conversation and updates them when follow-ups arrive. Changes it is unsure about go to the AI Inbox for a person to review.
Will AI create junk tasks?
It depends on the tool. Check whether you can undo AI actions and see which message a task came from. In Tydy, uncertain changes are not applied automatically: they wait in the AI Inbox, and each proposal shows its source message.
How much does Tydy cost?
Free is 0 RUB (up to 2 members, 3 projects, 50 AI actions a month), Pro is 990 RUB a month for up to 5 members and 2,000 AI actions, and Team is 2,990 RUB a month for up to 15 members and 10,000 AI actions. Pricing is per workspace, and members do not pay separately.
