Why teams look for a ClickUp alternative

ClickUp does a lot. Its pricing page lists Free Forever with unlimited tasks and free members (60 MB of storage), Core from $9 per user per month billed yearly, and Business from $17. For a team that uses the whole stack, that is convenient. Most searches for an alternative come from teams that only need a slice, or that find the setup costly.

  • Too many settings. A small team that needs tasks, a board and due dates can spend more time configuring views and automations than shipping work.
  • Per-seat cost grows fast. Paid ClickUp plans charge per user. An eighth teammate raises the bill immediately.
  • Docs and tasks fight for attention. Some teams want a lighter task tool and keep docs elsewhere, or the other way around.
  • The team does not talk in the tracker. When clients and colleagues write in Telegram, someone still has to create each ClickUp task by hand, and the list lags behind the chat.

What to check in a ClickUp alternative

  1. Which part of ClickUp is moving. Tasks and boards only, or also docs, Gantt, time tracking and automations.
  2. Task basics. Assignees, due dates, subtasks, checklists, Kanban, calendar, overdue reporting.
  3. How pricing works. Per user or per workspace, how many people the free plan covers, and the currency on the bill.
  4. Where the team talks. In the tool or in Telegram. If in Telegram, check how a message becomes a task and whether the chat context stays with it.
  5. Moving your data. Whether tasks and projects can be imported from ClickUp and what you will recreate by hand. Ask the vendor before you pay.

The alternatives in detail

ClickUp today: the baseline

For reference: on the ClickUp pricing page, Free Forever is $0 with unlimited tasks and free members, Kanban, calendar, sprints and time tracking, plus 60 MB of storage. Core is $9 per user per month billed yearly ($12 regular) and adds unlimited storage, unlimited Gantt charts and 1K automations per month. Business is $17 ($25 regular). Enterprise is custom. Yearly billing saves up to 33%.

ClickUp is broad by design: tasks, docs, chat, goals, sprints and automations live in one workspace. That breadth is why teams both love it and look for something narrower. Telegram is not listed on the pricing page as a native work channel.

Notion: docs and tasks in one workspace

Notion is strongest when writing and databases matter as much as tasks. Databases can hold projects with subtasks, dependencies and custom properties, and the same workspace holds docs and wikis. If ClickUp felt heavy but you still want docs next to tasks, Notion is the usual comparison. For a deeper Notion-focused comparison, see our Notion alternatives guide.

According to the pricing page as shown on 11/06/2026, Free is €0 per member per month. Plus is €9.50 per member per month and Business is €19.50, with Pay yearly selected (save up to 20%). Notion shows prices in local currency by region; our screenshot was set to EUR.

Tydy: when the team talks in Telegram, not in a tracker

To be upfront: Tydy is not a full ClickUp replacement. It has no docs or wiki, no Gantt charts, no time tracking and no ClickUp-style automation stack. If you need that breadth, stay on ClickUp or pick Asana, monday.com or Notion.

Tydy covers one part, tasks, and does it where the team already talks. If your clients and colleagues write in Telegram, Tydy connects to the work groups, topics and selected Business DMs and suggests creating or updating a task from messages, screenshots and voice notes. Uncertain changes wait for a person in AI Inbox. The team can read the work chats inside Tydy and see which task each message belongs to.

Each task keeps its conversation: Telegram messages, team replies, files and internal notes. Subtasks and checklists are available. Tasks live on a Kanban board, with a calendar by due date and an overdue report. The bot reminds the main assignee in Telegram a day and an hour before the due date, can send a morning digest and respects quiet hours. This is included on every plan.

Pricing is not per member but per workspace: Free 0 ₽ (up to 2 members, 3 projects), Pro 990 ₽ per month (up to 5 members), Team 2,990 ₽ per month (up to 15 members). Yearly billing saves 17%, and payment is in roubles via YooKassa.

What a team of 8 would pay

Take a small team of 8 that needs tasks. The numbers use the lowest suitable plan from the official pages as of 11/06/2026. ClickUp amounts are in USD from its pricing page; Asana, monday.com and Notion amounts match the euro prices on our screenshots.

ToolSuitable planPer month for 8 people
ClickUpCore billed yearly in USD (Free Forever with 60 MB storage is also an option)$72
AsanaStarter billed yearly in EUR (Personal covers 1 to 2 people)€87.92
monday.comBasic billed yearly in EUR (Free covers 2 seats)€72
NotionPlus billed yearly in EUR€76
TydyTeam (Pro covers 5 members)2,990 ₽ per workspace

Do not compare totals alone. ClickUp, Asana, monday.com and Notion grow with every new user. Notion includes docs in that price. Tydy covers only tasks but costs the same for any team up to 15 members, with payment in roubles.

How to move off ClickUp

  1. Split the workspace. Tasks and boards, docs, automations, time tracking. Decide what moves, what stays archived and what can be closed.
  2. Save what matters. Export open tasks, active projects and important docs. Closed tasks can usually stay in an archive or export file.
  3. Ask about migration. Check whether the new tool imports from ClickUp or offers help with moving, and test it on one project.
  4. Decide how tasks enter the new tool. By hand, from a form, from email or straight from the work chat.
  5. Set a switch date. From that day new tasks are created only in the new tool, and ClickUp stays read-only.
